Nicole Chu from the University of Ottawa speaks with Dr. Kanika Harris, the Director of Maternal Health for the Black Women’s Health Imperative, public health expert for the DC Mayor’s Lactation Commission and the Maternal Health Equity advisor for the state of Maryland. In this episode, Dr. Harris speaks on her past research in South Africa, focusing on maternal health and HIV prevention. She also speaks on the Black Women's Health Imperative, their purpose, and how they are working towards eliminating the racial disparity which is still prevalent against Black women in healthcare.
