Nicole Chu from the University of Ottawa speaks with Dr. Sophie Lerouge. Dr. Lerouge is a Full Professor in the Department of mechanical engineering at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and Adjunct Professor at the University of Montreal. She is also a Principal Scientist at the CHUM Research Centre in Montreal, Quebec and was the Canada Research Chair on endovascular implants and biomaterials from 2008 to 2018. In this episode, Dr. Lerouge shares with us her research on the design and evaluation of new biomaterials, such as hydrogels, and how her team optimizes their qualities for applications in vascular diseases, cell therapy and tissue engineering.
