Show Notes

BEaTS Research Radio is happy to present our latest episode, where Ibrahim Alayche, a student studying Translational and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa, conducts an extensive interview with Dr. Errol Thomson, a Research Scientist and Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa, Environmental Health Science and Research Bureau, and Health Canada. Dr. Thomson's research heavily emphasizes the negative effects of air pollution on our overall health, and he is recognized for his important contributions to this field. Our episode today with Dr. Thomson focuses on his latest research that provides an interesting perspective in regards to how traffic air pollution can have a significant negative impact on our stress levels, specifically on how diesel exhaust causes changes in our cortisol levels, a hormone produced exclusively to deal with stressful situations. Tune in to learn more about how he and his team studied these effects and what we can do to protect ourselves in the future better!
